EGLANTINE DE GANAY
ART ADVISOR
"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see."
Edgar Degas
About
I am a French art advisor and Curator. I work with leading and highly respected artists, both from a curatorial perspective and in ensuring the placing of their works amongst the world’s most prestigious private and public art collections.
The idea is always, as an art advisor, to be ahead of upcoming trends in the art market. I initially developed an expertise in Chinese, South Asian, Middle Eastern and Iranian art. I then focused on placing works from the Korean "Dansaekhwa" movement. Lee Ufan, one of the most acclaimed artists of that group, appeared in many of my client’s collections. Moving on, I set my focus to overlooked African American artists from the Washington Color School, such as Sam Gilliam, who was then to become one of the stars of that movement.
Today I am privileged to include mostly established and blue-chip artists from the present and the past, always bringing to light artists that may have not had their time of day. In the collections I build, works from renowned movements such as Abstract expressionism, Young British Artists, Figurative and Abstract art appear.
